Meaning and boundaries

A diagnostic response is evidence, not automatic proof; tests can be ambiguous, destructive, surface-specific, or outside their validated scope.

Why it matters in glass restoration

Appropriate tests can separate deposits from altered glass, coatings from residue, transferred metal from grooves, and accessible from inaccessible surfaces.
