Meaning and boundaries
The corner tempering logo or 'bug' is one specific type of permanent glass marking. A manufacturer logo, lot code, or serial number is not by itself a tempering mark and does not independently prove that the glass is tempered or safety-glazing certified.
Why it matters in glass restoration
Each visible marking should be photographed and transcribed exactly before restoration because different elements can identify the manufacturer, treatment, certification, standard, thickness, date, plant, lot, or product.
