Meaning and boundaries

Applied film is not a deposited glass coating or a laminated interlayer; adhesive, construction, edge termination, anchorage, warranty, and performance vary.

Why it matters in glass restoration

Abrasive restoration normally removes or damages film, and film presence can change thermal stress and cleaning compatibility.
