Meaning and boundaries
Category 2 is glass damage rather than removable Category 1 material. Any repeatable tactile catch moves the condition to Category 3 or Category 4, depending on whether chip flanks or flecking are present.
Why it matters in glass restoration
This is the lightest GlassRenu damage class and may be addressed through polishing or very light controlled abrasion after glass type, coating, location, and safety checks are complete.
