Meaning and boundaries
The name describes the contact history, not a unique depth or appearance. A dusty white line or tactile mark can also include transferred particles, chips, or subsurface cracking.
Why it matters in glass restoration
Handling history and the contacting edge help identify cause and prevent recurrence during storage, transport, installation, or restoration.
