Meaning and boundaries
A metallic-looking line is not automatically a glass scratch. Transferred metal can sit above the surface while separate abrasion or pitting exists underneath.
Why it matters in glass restoration
Separating transfer from substrate damage can reduce unnecessary glass removal and reveal whether additional restoration is needed after the metal is removed.
