Meaning and boundaries

Heat haze is treated as surface contamination in the GlassRenu system. Confirm that the condition is on the exposed surface and distinguish it from roll-wave distortion, anisotropy, corrosion, coating nonuniformity, furnace-roll marks, and internal IGU haze.

Why it matters in glass restoration

Correctly identifying heat haze as Category 1 directs the technician to a surface-contaminant process and avoids unnecessary glass removal or confusion with optical distortion.
