Meaning and boundaries
Leaching is not the same as water carrying contaminants from concrete or metal onto glass. The direction of material movement must be stated.
Why it matters in glass restoration
Leaching can produce a depleted surface layer, alter wetting and optical properties, and contribute to haze, iridescence, or progressive corrosion.
