Meaning and boundaries
Runoff is the carrier. The resulting glass condition may be removable residue, silicate deposit, alkaline attack, acid attack, metal staining, or a mixture.
Why it matters in glass restoration
Identifying the source and timing of runoff helps separate ongoing exposure from a one-time deposit and guides protection of adjacent materials.
