Meaning and boundaries

Spandrel is an application and assembly condition; the opacifier may be ceramic enamel, silicone-based paint, film, or another approved product.

Why it matters in glass restoration

Heat absorption, coating location, insulation, sealant compatibility, and limited rear access make unidentified spandrel glass a referral condition.
