Meaning and boundaries

Splatter is a direct deposit, unlike dissolved material carried in runoff, though both may occur together and both can be chemically active.

Why it matters in glass restoration

The particles can harden, trap abrasive aggregate, and expose the surface to high-pH moisture, making forceful scraping hazardous.
